Beijing Daxing International Airport has ranked first in the Asia-Pacific region according to the recently released 2025 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) assessment by Airports Council International (ACI). The airport achieved perfect scores in two border control-related metrics: "waiting time at immigration/passport control" and "courtesy and helpfulness of border/passport control staff." This marks the fifth consecutive year that Beijing Daxing International Airport's immigration checkpoint has received full marks in these categories, demonstrating the international standard of China's immigration management services and enhancing the capital's reputation as a global hub.
Efficiency and smooth processing are fundamental expectations for travelers. To maintain consistent service quality, the airport's immigration authorities have continuously optimized operational organization by implementing a "tidal flow" dynamic staffing mechanism. This system uses a flight volume prediction program developed by the Beijing Immigration Inspection Corps to monitor passenger flow in real time. Additionally, through refined scheduling measures such as cross-unit support and complementary staffing in small teams, the checkpoint has established a channel management principle of "full operation during peak hours and moderate operation during off-peak hours." These efforts ensure that Chinese citizens wait no longer than 30 minutes in line while simultaneously improving processing efficiency for foreign passengers.
To enhance the transfer experience, the airport has innovatively established a fully independent transfer inspection sub-venue. This facility supports over 40 international through-flight routes operated by airlines including China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, and China United Airlines, significantly reducing transfer times and walking distances for passengers. Furthermore, the airport implements a 24-hour direct transit policy that exempts eligible passengers from immigration procedures, further improving transfer convenience and supporting Daxing Airport's development as a world-class aviation hub.
The immigration checkpoint has also optimized procedures to align with unilateral visa-free policies and the 144-hour transit visa exemption. By integrating the issuance process for temporary entry permits, passengers can now complete both permit applications and entry procedures in a single step without queuing again, leading to a notable increase in processing efficiency.
To further streamline clearance and enhance smart travel experiences, the airport added four airlines supporting electronic boarding passes last year. A total of 46 fast-track channels have been installed in departure, arrival, and transfer areas, with eligible passengers registered for expedited clearance. This allows travelers to pass through in seconds, advancing the construction of smart port facilities.
