Ant International Secures Approximately $1.2 Billion in Series A Funding with Participation from Ant Group and Alibaba

Ant International has announced the successful completion of its Series A funding round. Participants in this round included its parent company, Ant Group Co., Ltd., along with several existing shareholders such as Alibaba and a number of prominent international investment firms.

The funding round raised approximately $1.2 billion. The capital will be allocated towards expanding its global operations, accelerating investments in cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, and broadening its inclusive financial technology services. These services include cross-border payments and global account solutions, all aimed at supporting the growth of merchants worldwide.

Public information indicates that Ant International commenced its independent operations in 2024. Its business now spans key markets across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. The platform connects over 150 million global merchants and more than 2 billion consumer accounts. It has established innovation, settlement, and operational centers in locations including Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia.

The company operates through four main business segments: Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst, and Bettr. These units focus on enhancing global payment connectivity and developing technology-driven solutions for merchant payments, treasury management, and financial services, heavily leveraging AI. Ant International has built an extensive collaborative network with financial institutions, technology companies, and merchants both within and outside its home market.
