Australia Declines to Implement Export Controls on Natural Gas Market

Deep News05-15 07:30

Australia's Minister for Resources and Northern Australia, Madeleine King, stated that the Australian government will not implement export controls on the natural gas market after industry and experts confirmed sufficient gas supply on the East Coast market. "Given that exporters have assured the government that they will supply adequate gas throughout the third quarter to meet demand, there is no need to take further action under Australia's Domestic Gas Security Mechanism for the third quarter of 2026," she said. "If the situation in Australia changes, the government will not hesitate to take further action." She added that all storage facilities on the East Coast are operating at or near full capacity.
