Fujian Haixi Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. (HAIXI PHARMA) has received Investigational New Drug (IND) approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for HXP089, a selective multi-target small-molecule therapy for glioblastoma.
HXP089 becomes HAIXI PHARMA’s third proprietary program to advance into clinical trials, following oncology asset C019199 and ophthalmology candidate HXP056. Discovered via the company’s MultiSel-Opt platform, HXP089 is engineered to modulate several disease-relevant pathways while demonstrating strong blood-brain barrier penetration—features aimed at improving outcomes in glioblastoma, where current treatment options of surgery and chemoradiotherapy are hindered by high recurrence rates and limited post-relapse therapies.
The NMPA clearance enables clinical studies to assess HXP089’s safety, tolerability and preliminary efficacy in glioblastoma patients. Management highlighted the milestone as further validation of the MultiSel-Opt platform’s capability to generate differentiated small-molecule assets.
Shareholders and potential investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in HAIXI PHARMA shares and to seek professional advice if in doubt.
