MICOT PHARMA-B (02335) has announced that the Phase II clinical trial for its candidate drug MT200605, designed to treat acute ischemic stroke, has successfully completed database locking.
MT200605 is an injectable neuroprotective agent featuring a dual synergistic mechanism of action. It is engineered to simultaneously activate TrkB receptors and eliminate oxygen free radicals. This approach helps inhibit neuronal apoptosis, reduce excitotoxicity, and alleviate inflammatory responses, thereby minimizing cell death. Additionally, it works by reactivating the endogenous repair mechanisms of neurons upstream, improving synaptic plasticity and promoting neuronal regeneration.
The Phase II clinical trial for MT200605 in acute ischemic stroke, conducted in China, was a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. Its primary objectives were to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics of MT200605. The trial enrolled its first patient in September 2025, completed enrollment of all 360 patients in March 2026, finished the last patient's follow-up in June 2026, and recently achieved database locking.
