A shareholder of AEC GROUP (08320) has deposited shares with UBS Securities Hong Kong, with a deposited value of HK$30.67 million, representing 48.93% of the company's shares. The deposit was recorded on May 20. Separately, AEC GROUP announced that on April 21, 2026, the company plans to issue up to approximately 146.6 million placement shares through a placement agent. These shares would account for about 16.59% of the enlarged share capital, with an issue price of HK$0.1 per share. This represents a discount of approximately 2.0% compared to the closing price of HK$0.102 per share on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on the date of the placement agreement. The maximum net proceeds from the placement are expected to be around HK$14.164 million. The company intends to allocate these funds as follows: HK$10 million for working capital to develop new businesses in hydrogen energy, renewable energy, and sustainable supply chains; HK$3 million for the repayment of existing bank loans; and approximately HK$1.1 million for administrative and corporate expenses.
