Swiss pharmaceutical giant Roche announced on Monday a major expansion of its global artificial intelligence infrastructure, deploying a large-scale AI factory powered by NVIDIA's latest generation of accelerated computing and AI technology.
The expansion adds 2,176 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, deployed in on-premises and hybrid cloud environments across the United States and Europe. This brings Roche's total available GPU count to over 3,500, establishing what is currently the largest disclosed GPU computing cluster in the pharmaceutical industry.
This move signifies a new phase in the strategic partnership between Roche and NVIDIA that began in 2023. The AI factory will be deeply integrated across Roche's entire value chain, with the goal of accelerating the development of new drugs, clinical trials, and diagnostic solutions.
