PEGBIO CO-B Shares Surge Over 13% as CR059 Research Accepted for Presentation at EASD 2026

Stock News06-02

Shares of PEGBIO CO-B (HKEX: 02565) have surged more than 13%. At the time of writing, the stock is up 9.8% to HK$8.75, with a turnover of HK$108 million.

The significant move follows a company announcement on June 1st. The group's self-developed circular RNA-encoded GLP-1 analogue, CR059, has had its research results accepted for presentation at the 62nd Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD 2026). Furthermore, the findings have been selected for an oral discussion session.

This marks the second major international recognition for CR059 and the company's circular RNA technology platform in the field of diabetes and metabolic diseases. The research was previously selected as a Late-Breaking Abstract for the American Diabetes Association's Annual Scientific Sessions.

The company highlights that the core innovative value of CR059 lies in its potential to move beyond the current weekly dosing regimen common to existing GLP-1 drugs. The aim is to extend treatment intervals to monthly or even quarterly administration.

If this technological pathway proves successful in subsequent clinical translation, it could significantly reduce the long-term dosing burden for patients with chronic metabolic diseases. This advancement would improve treatment adherence and long-term management efficiency, offering a new-generation solution for obesity, type 2 diabetes, and related metabolic disorders that differs from existing peptide-based drugs.
