China Mobile's International Revenue Soars 28.5% in 2025

On March 26, CHINA MOBILE released its 2025 financial results. The report indicated that the company's international market revenue reached 29.319 billion yuan in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 28.5%. CHINA MOBILE has been rapidly expanding its international presence, enhancing the synergistic effect between domestic and international markets, promoting the export of high-quality products and capabilities, and supporting the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

In 2025, the number of CHINA MOBILE customers using roaming services abroad reached 131 million, and the company served tens of thousands of Chinese enterprises in their international expansion. It enriched its international information services, with over 1,300 globally partnered data centers. The total international transmission bandwidth reached 406 Tbps.

CHINA MOBILE deepened international ecological cooperation, operating 40 global branches, with its "Hand-in-Hand Plan" covering more than 3 billion users worldwide. The company strengthened the operation of its overseas networks, with its Hong Kong mobile subsidiary leading the industry in 5G network coverage and speed. The successful acquisition of Hong Kong Broadband Network has fully leveraged synergies, aiming to provide Hong Kong consumers with richer and higher-quality communication and digital services.

Currently, international business has become a new competitive arena for the three major telecommunications operators. According to the 2025 annual report released by China Telecom on March 24, its international revenue reached 19.3 billion yuan, a 14.1% increase year-on-year. This marks the second consecutive year of double-digit growth since the disclosure of China Telecom's international operations. In terms of infrastructure, China Telecom is building an international network system described as "one axis, two wings, three networks, and four centers," and is advancing the construction of full-service access points in Kunming and Haikou. In strategic emerging businesses, China Telecom is actively developing its overseas AIDC layout, with overseas cloud revenue growing 36% year-on-year. For ecosystem cultivation, the company launched the OneGrowth global cooperation plan. Its "Smart Burkina Faso" project was selected as a highlight among central state-owned enterprises' overseas activities in 2025.

According to the 2025 financial report disclosed by China Unicom, its international revenue was 13.6 billion yuan, an increase of over 9% year-on-year. China Unicom is accelerating its international development by enhancing the capacity of major corridors in Asia-Pacific, Asia-America, and Asia-Africa-Europe. It is promoting its smart home products internationally and implementing benchmark projects such as smart manufacturing in ASEAN, smart warehousing in the Middle East, smart mines in Africa, and smart ports in Europe, contributing to the high-quality co-construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. The company is strengthening integrated operations in internet-connected vehicles, serving over 95 million vehicles and supporting the global expansion of new energy vehicles. From 2022 to 2024, China Unicom's international business maintained double-digit growth. At the earnings conference, China Unicom Chairman Dong Xin expressed hope for continued double-digit growth in the company's international operations, highlighting the increasingly important role of international business in the future development of telecommunications operators.
