On April 19, the finals of the first Shaanxi Provincial Geographical Indication "Star Ambassador" selection competition concluded successfully. Two individuals from the city were awarded the title of Shaanxi Geographical Indication "Star Ambassador," one person received the "Innovation Practice Award," and the Tongchuan Market Supervision Administration (Intellectual Property Office) was honored with the "Outstanding Organization Award," demonstrating the city's achievements in geographical indication brand building and cultural promotion.
The competition, themed "Telling the Story of Geographical Indications, Sharing the Fine Products of Shaanxi," brought together distinctive geographical indication products and promotional talents from across the province, aiming to explore the cultural significance of these indications and enhance brand influence. Through municipal preliminary rounds and provincial finals, Huang Xingchen, the promoter for "Yaozhou Ceramics," and Tan Zhan, the promoter for "Yijun Apples," stood out among 31 finalists with their excellent presentation and interpretation of the geographical indication products, becoming the first group of Shaanxi Geographical Indication "Star Ambassadors." Concurrently, Chen Feng, the promoter for "Tongchuan Big Cherries," won the "Innovation Practice Award" for his unique storytelling approach, while the Tongchuan Market Supervision Administration (Intellectual Property Office) received the "Outstanding Organization Award" for its meticulous planning and professional conduct.
In recent years, the city has focused on building a strong intellectual property city, continuously cultivating geographical indication brands. It has established a geographical indication matrix centered on Yaozhou Ceramics, Tongchuan Big Cherries, Tongchuan Apples, and Yijun Walnuts, covering specialty agriculture and traditional crafts, with steadily increasing brand value.
