Armstrong World Industries (AWI) saw its shares surge 6% in pre-market trading on Tuesday, following the release of its second-quarter financial results that handily beat analyst expectations.
The company reported adjusted earnings of $2.36 per share, a 12.92% increase from the same period last year and above the consensus estimate of $2.25. Net sales rose 11.16% to $472 million, driven by higher volumes and favorable pricing, also surpassing the projected $461.7 million.
Alongside the strong quarterly performance, Armstrong World raised its full-year 2026 guidance. The company now expects adjusted earnings per share in the range of $8.30 to $8.50, up from the prior $8.15 to $8.45, and net sales between $1.77 billion and $1.80 billion. The company also announced an $800 million increase to its share repurchase authorization, extending the program through December 2029.
