Idemitsu Kosan, Japan's second-largest petroleum company, announced on Tuesday that it will supply crude oil to a refinery in Vietnam, which is experiencing fuel shortages due to supply disruptions caused by conflicts involving Iran. A company spokesperson confirmed the decision but did not disclose the volume or timing of the delivery. Media reports suggest the shipment is expected to be around 4 million barrels. The spokesperson noted that the move was made in response to a request from Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical, a Vietnamese firm in which Idemitsu holds a stake. The company also stated that the Japanese government had supported the request.
