On August 11, the first "10 Gigabit Intelligent Broadcasting" e-commerce live streaming base in the country, jointly established by China Unicom and Vipshop (China) Co., Ltd., was officially inaugurated at the Vipshop E-Commerce Industrial Center. The event also marked the launch of three major intelligent broadcasting scenarios, aiming to set a new benchmark for the e-commerce live-streaming industry in the Greater Bay Area. Zhou Lisong, Party Secretary and General Manager of China Unicom Guangdong Branch, and Zhang Liang, Party Secretary and Vice President of Vipshop Group, attended the event and delivered speeches. Over 100 guests, including representatives from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Liwan District Government, Liwan District Science, Industry, Commerce and Information Technology Bureau, Liwan District Commerce and Investment Promotion Bureau, Guangdong E-Commerce Association, Guangdong Provincial E-Commerce Association, as well as leading figures in the live-streaming industry, e-commerce platform representatives, and ecological partners, participated in the event.
The "10 Gigabit Intelligent Broadcasting" base is designed to drive the deep integration of manufacturing and service industries, as per the provincial government's guidelines, and to support the high-quality development of the live-streaming sector. China Unicom Guangdong Branch provides the core technology infrastructure for e-commerce live streaming, including 10 Gigabit optical networks and 5G networks, while the Vipshop E-Commerce Industrial Center leverages its expertise in e-commerce operations, brand resources, and live-streaming ecosystems. This collaboration creates a new path for technology deployment driven by live-streaming scenarios. The Vipshop E-Commerce Industrial Center spans 120,000 square meters and features themed live-streaming rooms, a product selection center, and flexible office spaces, offering a "front-end broadcasting, back-end production, and inventory next door" one-stop industrial ecosystem service.
The base is built on China Unicom's integrated "network, computing power, AI, and security" service system. In terms of networking, the base is fully covered by China Unicom's 10 Gigabit network resources, providing tiered services such as "one-stop subscription, upgrade on demand" for different types of live-streaming tenants. For computing power, a large data center supports remote computing calls, enabling intelligent digital humans and animation production. In AI, the base offers AI live-streaming assistants for automatic explanation and intelligent interaction, as well as AI data analysis for decision-making to optimize live-streaming performance. Security is ensured through carrier-grade high-level cybersecurity protection, safeguarding the entire live-streaming process. The initiative aims to rapidly accelerate the intelligent broadcasting ecosystem, replicating and extending capabilities from single-point applications to industrial clusters across the province. Leveraging Vipshop's extensive online live-streaming operational experience, the base will systematically conduct standardized training in anchor operations, short video creation, cross-border live streaming, and compliance management, continuously cultivating professional live-streaming talent to strengthen the industry's talent foundation.
Three major intelligent broadcasting scenarios were unveiled at the event, creating a new one-stop intelligent broadcasting ecosystem combining "high-speed networks, professional scenarios, and premium supply chains." For indoor high-definition live streaming, China Unicom's 10 Gigabit broadband offers 10,000 Mbps download and 1,000 Mbps upload speeds with millisecond-level latency, supported by AI intelligent live-streaming tools for smooth high-definition video and multi-device streaming. For outdoor live streaming, the 5G-A network and exclusive intelligent broadcasting card packages provide uplink peak rates of up to 400 Mbps, addressing long-standing issues such as network instability, screen stuttering, and disconnections in outdoor environments. In the product selection center, areas dedicated to clothing, accessories, premium goods, and China Unicom's "Intelligent Product Zone" showcase AI-powered trendy products from the National Artificial Intelligence Application Pilot Base, forming a closed-loop chain from selection to live streaming, display to sales. The base offers tailored industrial services and multiple tiers of China Unicom's intelligent broadcasting products, meeting the network needs of small, medium, and large live-streaming enterprises across various scenarios.
With 10 Gigabit intelligent broadcasting and digital intelligence empowerment, China Unicom will focus on the four core tracks of "connectivity, computing power, services, and security." It will continue to leverage its integrated advantages in network, computing, and AI, deepen industrial ecosystem collaboration, and accelerate the deep integration of AI technology with specialized industries. This will drive the high-quality development of the e-commerce live-streaming sector and inject new momentum into the construction of Guangdong's modern industrial system.
