On April 19, 2026, the 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Half Marathon and Humanoid Robot Half Marathon was held. The AI Institute under Beijing Data Group, in collaboration with the Urban Operations Bureau of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, utilized AI glasses and robotic dogs, starting with waste sorting, to comprehensively demonstrate the practical achievements of Yizhuang's refined urban governance and assist in event support.

Building a New Logic for Urban Management As key components of the AI Institute's initiative to build an "All-Domain Artificial Intelligence City," AI glasses and robotic dogs worked in coordination, deeply integrating artificial intelligence technology with urban management. They served not only as "intelligent assistants" for city governance but also as core forces in the publicity and support efforts for waste sorting during the event.

Robotic Dogs: Eliminating Urban Inspection Blind Spots With their agile forms, robotic dogs acted as "flexible scouts" for urban governance, effectively filling the gaps in manual inspections. Equipped with LiDAR and depth-sensing cameras, they could autonomously plan routes, avoid obstacles, and easily navigate hard-to-reach areas like green belts and building corners, accurately identifying scattered waste. During the event, the robotic dogs also became "popular science influencers," making science education more fun and engaging, and guiding participants and citizens to practice environmental awareness.

AI Glasses: Enabling More Efficient and Convenient Frontline Governance AI glasses served as "intelligent随身 assistants" for frontline staff. Leveraging deep learning algorithms and high-definition recognition modules, they enabled an efficient work mode of "see-and-identify, see-and-report." Staff could accurately identify waste categories and improper disposal behaviors without manual operation. During routine patrols, the glasses could instantly alert citizens to不规范 disposal practices while automatically recording relevant information and uploading it to a platform, creating a closed-loop management system that addresses issues like the lack of records and difficulty in tracing associated with manual supervision. At the event, staff wearing AI glasses were stationed in the finish area, guiding participants in proper waste disposal, promptly correcting misplacement, and simultaneously collecting waste disposal data to support the future optimization of waste management plans.

Strengthening the Intelligent Governance System For this event support, the AI Institute, through its subsidiary Digital Infrastructure Company, deployed over 120 different algorithms covering areas such as object recognition and path planning, establishing a governance system characterized by "precise identification, efficient handling, and intelligent coordination."

As a core pilot zone for the "Dual-Smart City" initiative, Beijing Data Group is redefining urban governance with AI, integrating technology into urban development. In the future, Beijing Data Group will continue to optimize the functions and application scenarios of intelligent devices and agents, allowing refined management to permeate every corner of the city.
