CSOP Samsung Electronics 2x Long (07747) rose over 5%, reaching 5.13% higher at HK$81.5 as of press time, with a turnover of HK$187 million.
On the news front, several companies under the Samsung Group, including Samsung Electronics, recently agreed to invest a combined US$1 billion in Helix Digital Infrastructure, a U.S. company backed by private equity giant KKR, further expanding the Korean conglomerate's footprint in the rapidly growing artificial intelligence infrastructure market.
This investment will give South Korea's largest industrial group a stake in a company whose business spans multiple sectors where Samsung already has significant operations, including semiconductors, construction, data centers, cloud computing, and finance.
Helix was jointly established in June by KKR, the Kuwait Investment Authority, Nvidia (NVDA.US), and Vistra Energy (VST.US), and has already secured over US$10 billion in long-term capital commitments.
Helix stated that its business focuses on investing in, delivering, and managing AI-supporting infrastructure, covering hyperscale data centers, power generation and transmission facilities, as well as fiber optic and connectivity assets.
Helix plans to leverage Nvidia's full-stack technology while combining Samsung's technology and energy storage capabilities to accelerate the development and delivery of AI infrastructure.
