The nation's first 50,000-tonne MR product tanker with dual certification for both smart ship systems and cybersecurity, named "Smart Cloud Sail," was christened and delivered on September 28 at Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry.

MR stands for Medium Range product tanker, which serves as the workhorse vessel type in global refined petroleum seaborne trade.

The ship is the country's first 50,000-tonne-class MR vessel equipped with a full suite of intelligent ship systems, meeting the IACS UR E26 cyber resilience requirements and obtaining the China Classification Society's cybersecurity additional class notation. This marks a new breakthrough for Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry in the fields of high-end tanker intelligence and cybersecurity.

The vessel measures 182.9 meters in length with a molded breadth of 32.26 meters and a design speed of 14 knots. It is capable of carrying crude oil, aviation kerosene, and other oil products. Its cargo oil piping system supports simultaneous loading and discharging of three different grades of cargo oil, balancing cargo capacity with adaptability to major global ports.
