On January 14, after news spread that Trip.com Group Limited had been formally investigated by the State Administration for Market Regulation for suspected abuse of market dominance, Dreametech CEO Yu Hao posted two messages on his social media feed that evening. He announced plans to launch a competing product to challenge Trip.com, stating they would release it that very day to break the company's monopoly.

Another post declared: "Then let's establish an Air Ticket and Hotel Travel Business Unit, answering the national call."
