(Source: Economic Daily, Jinan, October 31) In recent years, Jinan City in Shandong Province has been intensifying efforts to improve its industrial chain, strengthen technological innovation, and expand application scenarios, driving the accelerated clustering of its robotics industry. In the first seven months of this year, Jinan's robotics sector generated operating revenue of 15.66 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.5%.
As a premier advanced manufacturing base in northern China and one of the first designated Chinese Software Cities, Jinan has essentially established a robotics industry ecosystem spanning upstream core components, midstream robot body manufacturing, and downstream system integration applications. Among these, the Jinan High-tech Zone has pursued coordinated development across three major categories: industrial robots, special-purpose robots, and humanoid robots. This well-developed industrial ecosystem provides support for enterprises to tackle key technological challenges and translate innovative achievements into practical applications.
At present, the city's robotics industry boasts three national-level industrial design centers, with 59 products (sets) recognized as major technical equipment debuting for the first time. The "Jumang" robot operating system, independently developed by Shandong Alexander Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., achieves sub-millisecond real-time response and has been deployed in more than 200 enterprises across the gold, fiberglass, and other sectors. The third-generation welding robot "Kaituo" independently developed by Jinan Heavy Industry Group has overcome the challenge of cumulative deviation in multi-layer, multi-pass welding of ultra-thick plates, achieving a one-time flaw detection pass rate exceeding 99%.
While solidifying its technological foundation, Jinan is accelerating efforts to extend and strengthen its industrial chain and attract new projects. Targeting weak links in the supply chain, Jinan has precisely introduced supporting enterprises, forming a virtuous cycle in which "leading firms drive supporting players, and supporting players reinforce leading firms." The city has facilitated the landing of 16 projects, including those from Shanghai Keenon Robotics and Beijing Guanglun Intelligent. Currently, the city has 115 projects in the planning and reserve stage, with a total planned investment of 12.996 billion yuan.
Expanding application scenarios is a key lever for advancing technological iteration and commercializing achievements in the robotics industry. In July of this year, Jinan released its first batch of 318 robot application scenarios to the public, covering 12 categories including agriculture, manufacturing, and construction. At the same time, Jinan is actively building supply-demand matching platforms, organizing enterprises to conduct scenario matchmaking, and facilitating product promotion and application. Yu Haitian, Deputy Secretary of the Jinan Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Jinan, stated that the next step for Jinan is to adhere to scenario-driven development, better align robot products with industrial needs, deepen the promotion of "Robot+" applications, continuously improve the industrial chain and ecosystem, and accelerate the construction of a robotics industry development cluster in the Yellow River Basin.
