Zhanjiang is rolling out a range of special discounts and benefits to salute military personnel for the upcoming Army Day on August 1st. This coastal city has prepared a series of privileges for active and retired service members to express its gratitude.

Let's explore the various offers available.

Free Entry to Huguangyan

Huguangyan Scenic Area is offering a special military benefit, inviting all service members to visit this world-class maar lake for free. The offer is valid on August 1, 2026, for all active and retired military personnel across the country. To gain free entry, which waives the main gate ticket, individuals must present their valid ID. Acceptable documents include military officer cards, non-commissioned officer cards, conscript cards, armed police ID, military academy student ID, and the "PRC Veterans Preferential Treatment Card" (in either electronic or physical form). Please note that the pass is for personal use only and cannot be transferred. This benefit covers only the first admission ticket; secondary consumption items such as scenic area shuttles and boat rides are not included.

Bay Cruise at a Special Rate

This summer, enjoy a sea date in Zhanjiang's harbor on the White Dolphin cruise ship. Take in the views of Zhanjiang Bay, the grand military port, and the bustling cityscape from the water. Active and retired military personnel can purchase a special ticket at the on-site counter for just RMB 81 per person, granting random access to either the first or second deck. Accompanying family members or guests of a service member can buy tickets at a 50% discount off the standard price. This offer is valid from July 31 to August 2. Valid ID must be shown for on-site purchase and verification. This offer cannot be combined with other promotions, redeemed for cash, or exchanged for change.

Electronics and Appliance Deals for Military

The Zhanjiang Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the Zhanjiang Municipal Veterans Affairs Bureau, and the Zhanjiang Federation of Trade Unions are jointly guiding JD.com Wuxing Electric Appliance Group Zhanjiang Co., Ltd. to secure resources from JD.com's headquarters for a special military event. Each product category is limited to one item per person, with a maximum subsidy of RMB 1,500 for home appliances and RMB 500 for digital items. Additional "Guangdong Premium Purchase" subsidies offer up to RMB 1,000 off for robotic vacuum cleaners and kitchen stoves, and up to RMB 500 off for rice cookers, water purifiers, sterilizers, and dishwashers.
