White House staff secretary Will Scharf stated that President Trump has signed measures related to the critical minerals supply chain, an action based on the findings of a Section 232 trade investigation.
White House officials indicated that Trump has signed a separate measure related to semiconductors, which originates from a semiconductor trade investigation also conducted under Section 232. Trump claimed this action would enable the United States to receive 25% of the revenue from the sale of certain chips.
