Qinghai Builds a Multi-Energy Complementary Renewable Energy Industrial Base Backed by Solar PV, Concentrated Solar Power and Wind Generation

Deep News10-16 17:31

Qinghai, leveraging its resource endowments in water, wind and solar power, is anchoring itself to the goal of building a national clean energy industrial highland, coordinating policy supply with technological innovation, and driving the optimization of its energy mix and the upgrading of its industrial capacity. Multiple indicators in the development and utilization of clean energy rank among the nation's leaders, injecting strong "green momentum" into high-quality development.

Policy innovation empowers and consolidates the foundation of industrial development.

The province issued the Measures for the Management of Renewable Energy Project Development and Construction in Qinghai Province to standardize project development and construction. It established a market mechanism for clean energy consumption. It formulated the Implementation Plan for Qinghai Province to Leverage Green Electricity Advantages to Promote Export-Oriented Industrial Development, advancing industrial transformation and development while strengthening foreign trade service guarantees. It issued the Implementation Plan for Green Electricity Direct Connection in Qinghai Province, exploring a model of direct power supply between renewable energy stations and enterprises to meet corporate demand for green energy. It implemented the Several Measures of Qinghai Province on Promoting the Large-Scale Development of Concentrated Solar Power, aiming to build a "Capital of Concentrated Solar Power in China."

Coordinated diversified development consolidates the leading position in green electricity.

The province is accelerating the construction of a new energy system, systematically integrating wind power, solar PV, concentrated solar power and energy storage, filling a domestic gap in intelligent dispatch technology. It has broken through bottlenecks in large-scale energy storage and ultra-high-voltage transmission technology, promoting both local consumption of green electricity and cross-regional transmission, with the number of provinces receiving Qinghai's green electricity expanding to 23. It is advancing the layout of the solar PV industry chain in depth, with the average mass-production conversion efficiency of solar cells reaching an internationally leading level.

Base construction is accelerating, and green electricity application leads the nation.

With solar PV, concentrated solar power and wind generation at its core and the construction of regulating power sources as support, Qinghai is building a renewable energy industrial base featuring complementary advantages across multiple types of energy. It is developing the upstream renewable energy generation industry, steadily advancing the construction of regulating power sources to ensure stable power supply; pushing forward midstream power transmission projects, accelerating the construction of power transmission corridors and grid infrastructure to build green electricity corridors leading to Central China, the Sichuan-Chongqing region and the Greater Bay Area; and optimizing the downstream power consumption system, promoting the large-scale application of clean energy in industry, transportation, construction and other sectors, creating a complete industrial chain spanning "equipment manufacturing — clean energy generation — energy storage supporting facilities — terminal consumption."
