Crypto Stocks Drop as Bitcoin Price Falls Toward $61,000

Bitcoin fell early Monday, putting the digital token on course for its lowest end-of-day level in more than a month. Other cryptocurrencies also retreated.

Bitcoin recently traded at about $61,092, down 4.7% compared with Friday's 4 p.m. ET price of $64,173.

Bitcoin hasn't ended the day below $62,000 since May 14.

The cryptocurrency remains sharply higher for 2024, after ending last year below $43,000.

Ether fell nearly 6% compared with Friday’s price.

Crypto stocks dropped in morning trading Monday. Canaan fell 5%; Bitfarms and MicroStrategy fell 4%; Coinbase fell 3%; CleanSpark and Marathon Digital fell 2%.
