Provincial Agricultural Exports Reach 18.13 Billion Yuan in First 11 Months

Deep News12-12

According to recent statistics from Kunming Customs, Yunnan Province exported agricultural products worth 18.13 billion yuan in the first 11 months of this year, marking a year-on-year increase of 4.5%. These products were shipped to 132 countries and regions.

A key driver behind this growth is the "Batch Inspection (Quarantine)" reform for agricultural and food exports, an innovative regulatory measure implemented by the General Administration of Customs. Under this model, customs authorities shift their focus from inspecting every batch of declared goods to conducting comprehensive on-site inspections on the first batch of a "batch inspection unit" for trusted enterprises. Once the initial batch passes inspection, subsequent shipments within the same unit are cleared through verification, eliminating repetitive on-site checks. This approach enables "instant declaration, inspection, and release," significantly improving logistics efficiency for businesses.

"Agricultural and food products are perishable, so clearance speed directly impacts quality," said Miao Yuhong, Chairman of Tonghai Hengzhao Import & Export Co., Ltd. "With the new model, we only need to declare a batch inspection unit once, and subsequent shipments can be cleared immediately. This has drastically reduced clearance times, stabilized our overseas supply chain, and enhanced our international competitiveness."

This year, Kunming Customs has leveraged Yunnan’s resource advantages to boost highland specialty agriculture. On one hand, it has strengthened quality control by assessing corporate management, product quality, and creditworthiness to ensure compliance with safety standards. On the other hand, it has expanded the "Batch Inspection" pilot program to cover eight categories, including vegetables, fruits, and fresh-cut flowers, while integrating remote video inspections and centralized checks. These measures have significantly improved inspection efficiency, accelerating the global expansion of "Yunnan Fruits" and "Yunnan Vegetables."

Moving forward, Kunming Customs plans to include more enterprises in the pilot program, extending reform benefits to a broader market and opening a faster, more efficient export pathway for Yunnan’s agricultural and food products.
