At a results briefing for the first half of 2026 held on August 20, Bank Of Nanjing Co.,Ltd. addressed its financial performance, with the company's non-performing loan ratio edging down to 0.82% by the end of the period, underscoring steady asset quality. However, the provision coverage ratio slipped 7.51 percentage points from the end of last year to 306.11%, while credit impairment losses for the half-year jumped 34.77% year-on-year.
Independent director Qiang Ying explained that the bank has consistently pursued a prudent approach to provisioning, with the overall provision balance remaining stable and slightly rising. Although the provision coverage ratio experienced minor fluctuations, it continues to hold at a robust level. The increase in credit impairment losses during the first half is primarily attributed to the bank's intensified efforts to accelerate risk resolution and clearance.
Looking ahead, the institution will persist in its commitment to long-term stability and high-quality development, aiming to preserve a sufficient risk buffer while maintaining moderate profitability. Qiang Ying also noted that, in her capacity as an independent director, she will actively engage in the company's strategic decision-making, ensure compliance with national laws and policies, drive the transition toward high-quality growth, oversee potential conflicts of interest between major shareholders and the company, safeguard the rights of minority shareholders, and faithfully fulfill her duties of loyalty and diligence.
