According to Viktor Nekrasov, founder of graphic design studio Veonix, citing data from Russian clients, multiple websites experienced traffic declines of up to 90% after Iranian drone strikes targeted several cloud data center clusters operated by Amazon Web Services in the UAE.
On March 2, two Amazon Web Services cloud data center clusters in the UAE lost power due to an Iranian drone attack; the company also reported minor power issues at one of its clusters in Bahrain.
"The unstable conditions persisted for about 10 days, only stabilizing around March 15. For many companies that rely on Google organic search for 70% to 90% of their traffic, this period proved critical. Based on our estimates, 70% of our clients experienced significant fluctuations in their search visibility on Google during the service instability, with some losing up to 90% of their search traffic," the expert stated.
