Flydoo Technology Holding Limited (Stock Code: 8069) has indicated a significant rise in net losses based on unaudited consolidated management accounts for the six months ended 30 September 2025. The group projects an approximate 550% increase in net losses compared to the net losses of around HK$588,000 for the same period in 2024.
According to the announcement, the higher losses stem from widespread concern over a Japanese manga artist’s prediction of a large-scale earthquake in July 2025. This speculation led to substantial drops in package tour bookings for Japan—one of the group’s key outbound destinations—during the peak summer holiday season.
The rumored catastrophe did not materialize, and tourism warnings have since been debunked. Management expects tourism activity to rebound in Japan going forward. The final financial results for the six months ended 30 September 2025 are slated for publication before the end of November 2025, pursuant to the company’s listing requirements. Shareholders and potential investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s shares.
