Energy and Chemical Futures Extend Gains, Low Sulfur Fuel Oil Surges Over 7%

During the morning session on April 23, the main contracts for energy and chemical commodity futures continued to expand their gains. Low sulfur fuel oil (LU) rose more than 7%, fuel oil increased over 5%, and SC crude oil climbed more than 4%. Para-xylene (PX) advanced over 3%, while purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and bottle chips gained more than 2%. Styrene, short fiber, pure benzene, methanol, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and asphalt all rose nearly 2%.
