Deep News08-07

Ant Group Co., Ltd. Vice President and Head of its Health Business Unit, Zhang Junjie, delivered a keynote speech at the 2026 Global Healthcare Summit, co-hosted by New Frontier Corporation and the Hong Kong Investment Corporation Limited (HKIC) in Hong Kong.

Zhang Junjie disclosed that the company's AI-powered health assistant, "Ant Afu," has now served over 130 million users in total. Notably, 55% of these users are from cities below the third tier, senior citizens aged 60 and above account for 25% of the user base, and 16% of all inquiries occur during the early morning hours.

Zhang Junjie emphasized that the relationship between AI and doctors is one of partnership. He stated that the AI provides support while physicians remain in control. "Ant Afu" responds to patients, but doctors are the final decision-makers. He argued that AI assistants empower medical professionals by freeing them from tedious tasks like patient management, paperwork, and literature searches, thereby returning valuable time to doctors for patient care and unlocking their high-value productivity.
