MEITUAN's Payment Arm Fined 7.7 Million Yuan Over Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Due Diligence Failures

On July 31, the People's Bank of China Beijing Branch published a penalty information disclosure form. It showed that Beijing QiandaiBao Payment Technology Co., Ltd., the payment platform under MEITUAN-W (03690), was fined 7.7375 million yuan.

The penalty was imposed for several violations, including failing to conduct proper customer due diligence, failing to report suspicious transactions, providing services to customers with unidentified identities, and opening anonymous or fake-name accounts for customers, or opening accounts for customers using another person's identity.

The regulatory decision was made on July 23, 2026, and the penalty period is set for five years. The fine amount is exactly 7,737,500 yuan.
