Hu Huaping, previously Deputy Secretary-General of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government, has assumed the role of Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group Co., Ltd. (Beibu Gulf Port Group).

On November 24, Hu conducted an inspection in Beihai, reviewing the production operations, port-enterprise coordination, and development plans of Beibu Gulf Port's Beihai terminals. His appointment follows an earlier announcement of his nomination as head of a regional state-owned enterprise.

Hu, born in November 1975 in Binyang, Guangxi, holds an on-the-job postgraduate degree in engineering. His career includes key roles such as Director of Comprehensive Transportation Management, Safety Supervision, and Science & Education at the Guangxi Department of Transport. He was promoted to Vice Director of the department in March 2020 before transitioning to his government role in September 2024.

Beibu Gulf Port Group, established in February 2007, is a major state-owned enterprise under the Guangxi government, integrating public port assets from Fangchenggang, Qinzhou, and Beihai. It has expanded into logistics, trade, energy, ship locks, and overseas investments, operating in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, and Thailand. In 2024, the group reported revenue of 103.76 billion yuan, with total assets reaching 158.17 billion yuan.

Liu Shengyou, the former Party Committee Secretary and Chairman, was appointed Deputy Secretary of Liuzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor in October this year.
