Amazon Reports Cloud Infrastructure Damage in Bahrain and UAE Due to Regional Conflict

Deep News04-30 20:21

Amazon.com announced on Thursday that its cloud regions in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have sustained damage as a result of ongoing Middle East conflicts, rendering them unable to support customer applications.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) stated that it has suspended billing for services in both regions while teams work to restore normal operations, a process expected to take several months.

The company has not yet responded to media inquiries regarding whether its facilities were directly targeted by drone attacks or affected by nearby airstrikes. The extent of the damage remains unclear at this time.

Last month, media reports indicated that Amazon.com's cloud service region in Bahrain experienced an outage due to drone activity in the area.
