Trip.com Sends Late-Night Dismissal Notifications by Mistake, Later Clarified as False Alarm

Deep News01-12

A significant number of Trip.com Group Limited employees recently received text messages, sent in the company's name, notifying them of their "dismissal." The messages began with the greeting "Hello XX, thank you for your companionship along the way," and instructed employees to log in to the internal communication software 'trippal' using their mobile numbers, leading many recipients to mistakenly believe they were being laid off.

It has been clarified that this incident was not related to actual layoffs or termination procedures but was instead caused by an internal system error. Following the event, Trip.com used internal channels such as its OA system and corporate WeChat to clarify the situation to employees, explaining that it was an operational mistake during a system testing phase, that there is no company-wide dismissal plan, and apologizing to the affected staff.
