On May 5, major Hong Kong stock indices opened lower. The Hang Seng Index fell by 0.58%, while the Hang Seng Tech Index dropped by 0.55%. CATL rose nearly 3%, Baidu increased by nearly 2%, and NetEase gained close to 1%. However, WuXi Biologics declined over 2%. Tianxing Medical surged more than 192% on its first day of trading.
Among individual stocks, most technology and internet shares declined. JD Health fell nearly 3%, while XPeng Group, Li Auto, Huahong Semiconductor, Midea Group, Alibaba Health, Meituan, Tencent Holdings, and Xiaomi Group all recorded losses. In contrast, Baidu Group and NetEase saw gains.
