Gap, Inc Appoints Former PVH Corp Executive to Lead Banana Republic Brand

Gap, Inc has officially appointed Donald Kohler as the Global Brand President and Chief Executive Officer of its Banana Republic brand. The company announced the hiring of the former PVH Corp executive on Tuesday.

Kohler previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Americas for PVH Corp, overseeing the Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger brands in the region, as well as managing the group's retail, e-commerce, wholesale, and brand licensing operations across all segments.

PVH Corp stated on the same day that Kohler decided to leave the company to balance family commitments and pursue new career opportunities. His position will be taken over by Adeline Zhang.

Before joining PVH Corp, Kohler held senior management roles at luxury and fashion brands including Burberry, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Diesel. Earlier in his career, he spent over a decade at Gap, Inc, where he was responsible for merchandise planning and management for the main Gap brand, GapKids, and babyGap lines.

Kohler remarked, "Returning to Gap, Inc holds special significance for me."

Gap, Inc stated that under Kohler's leadership, Banana Republic will continue to enrich and refine its product portfolio, enhance both in-store and online shopping experiences, and implement a refined and steady omnichannel operational strategy globally.
