Haikou Meilan International Airport surpasses 1 million international and regional passenger trips in 2026
According to Haikou Meilan International Airport, as of August 3, the airport's international and regional passenger throughput for this year has exceeded 1 million trips, reaching this milestone 45 days earlier than last year. Building on the current strong growth trend, the airport's full-year international and regional passenger volume for 2026 is expected to surpass last year's total of 1.53 million trips. To date, Meilan Airport has operated 42 international and regional passenger routes this year, including the Hainan Free Trade Port's first intercontinental route to Spain, "Haikou-Chongqing-Madrid." It serves 28 overseas destination cities, covering regions such as Hong Kong and Macau, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, Europe, and North America, accelerating its development into an aviation regional hub facing the Pacific and Indian Oceans.
Haikou's 898 Art Village approved as China Federation of Literary and Art Circles "New Literary and Artistic Organizations" practice and innovation base
The China Federation of Literary and Art Circles recently released the fourth batch of "New Literary and Artistic Organizations" practice and innovation bases, with Haikou's 898 Art Village successfully selected, becoming Hainan's first such base. The 898 Art Village features platforms including a "New Literary and Artistic Organizations" workstation, a Haikou City United Front Service Station, a "Migratory Bird" talent workstation, and a Women's Micro Home. It currently has 6 public exhibition halls, 12 personal museums, art galleries, and galleries, 9 intangible cultural heritage projects, and over 70 various art institutions and studios. It brings together nearly 100 artists and art workers in fields such as traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, calligraphy, photography, music, cultural and creative products, pottery, Li brocade, Miao embroidery, and plaster sculpture.
Haikou Jiangdong New Area Ecological CBD micro-circulation shuttle bus begins trial operation
On August 4, a shuttle bus departed on time from the Tinghai Pavilion long-term rental apartment in the Haikou Jiangdong New Area Headquarters Economic Zone (Ecological CBD), smoothly traveling to stations along the route including the Jiangdong Development Building and Hainan Energy Trading Building. This marks the official start of the trial operation of the Jiangdong New Area Ecological CBD micro-circulation shuttle bus. The shuttle route covers morning, midday, and evening time slots, with a trial period of two weeks. Notably, subsequent route optimization and adjustments will be determined by passenger feedback. A concurrently launched travel demand survey is widely collecting commuting needs from nearby buildings such as the General Technology Building, Hongbao Headquarters Building, and Enterprise Port. Whether new stops are added will be entirely based on the survey results.
Haikou delegation leads medal table with 6 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze
On August 4, the 7th Hainan Provincial Games continued in Qionghai City. The Haikou delegation competed tenaciously and strived for excellence in table tennis, sailing/windsurfing, and weightlifting events, winning multiple medals. As of now, the Haikou delegation has achieved an outstanding total of 6 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medals, temporarily leading the medal table.
Hainan general high school academic proficiency qualifying exam results released
According to the Hainan Provincial Examination Bureau, the results of the 2026 general high school academic proficiency qualifying exam have been released. Candidates can check their scores on the provincial examination bureau's official website. Individual candidates should visit the Hainan Provincial Examination Bureau website, click on the "2026 Hainan Province General High School Academic Proficiency Qualifying Exam Results Query" link, and enter their exam card number, password, and the verification code on the displayed page. Various city and county education bureaus and high schools can download and print student score reports through the "Hainan Academic Record and Academic Proficiency Examination Management System" for students who need them. Subject results will be presented as "Pass" or "Fail."
