At the 2026 Sustainable Global Leaders Conference held from October 20 to 22 at the Huangpu Expo Park in Shanghai, Sheng Ruisheng, Board Secretary and Brand Director of Ping An Group, delivered a speech on October 20, according to financial news from the event.
Sheng Ruisheng stated that various risks are continuously increasing, with three categories—geopolitical risks, climate change and nature loss risks, and risks derived from artificial intelligence and technology—profoundly affecting future society and business operations while presenting numerous new challenges to the financial and insurance industry.
He emphasized that insurance is inherently intertwined with risk, and its core value lies in actively discerning macro risks and safeguarding certainty for society amid uncertainty. Ping An closely follows the pace of risk evolution, identifies risks, innovates solutions, implements risk reduction work, and continuously expands the boundaries of protection, sharing relevant practices through three key words: "Enduring Safety, Enduring Green, and Enduring Growth."
Sheng Ruisheng first introduced the first key word, "Enduring Safety"—shaping more security for the general public. Relying on a global emergency rescue network covering more than 230 countries and regions with 24/7 response, Ping An has served nearly 10,000 outbound enterprises and nearly one million Chinese traveling abroad, completing over 1,000 rescue cases cumulatively, including cross-border air ICU transfers for clients in Southeast Asia and evacuation of Chinese enterprise employees in the Middle East.
Domestically, Ping An implemented the "Traffic Light Project," addressing 5,292 high-incidence accident road sections across 820 counties in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), significantly reducing accident rates; launched the "Firefly" public welfare project to protect the nighttime travel safety of the elderly and children, and built an AI early warning system for urban traffic risks.
For new industries, Ping An introduced specialized extended warranties for the "three electric systems" of new energy vehicles, the "Smart Flight Insurance" for the low-altitude economy, insurance plus leasing policies for embodied intelligent robots, and global policies for autonomous driving, keeping pace with industrial development and supporting risk protection.
The second key word is "Enduring Green"—promoting continuous ecological improvement. Ping An created bird-friendly building samples, protected migratory bird habitats in Shenzhen's mangrove forests, launched the country's first mangrove carbon sink index insurance, established a biodiversity charitable trust, and drove public participation in ecological protection through public welfare activities; it initiated an ancient tree protection plan, providing 1.26 billion yuan in risk protection for 79,000 ancient and famous trees nationwide.
Meanwhile, Ping An self-developed the "Eagle Eye" disaster early warning system, integrating multi-source data such as meteorology and satellite remote sensing, cumulatively warning of 1.62 million disasters during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, covering 130 million person-times; the overseas version EagleX has been deployed in 23 countries, providing cross-border disaster early warning services for overseas infrastructure projects.
The third key word is "Enduring Growth"—promoting steady and long-term technological advancement. Ping An advances its AI in All strategy with the goal of achieving AI for All, using artificial intelligence to enhance the accessibility of financial, medical, and elderly care services. Ping An launched an AI quick service entry allowing tasks to be handled with one sentence, integrating over 300 services, with an AI inquiry handling coverage rate of 88% and an end-to-end resolution rate exceeding 90%; in the medical field, it introduced an AI product matrix for severe and specialized diseases, and in daily health management, it adopted an "AI plus real doctor" dual service model, achieving 24/7 all-weather service with AI second-level response and a consultation accuracy rate of 98%.
Ping An simultaneously built an AI governance system, adhering to five major AI ethical principles, exercising full-process AI control, strictly controlling hallucination rates, implementing human-machine co-governance and key manual reviews, and safeguarding the bottom line of technological security.
Sheng Ruisheng emphasized that enterprise development is both a sprint and an endurance race. The sprint tests the acuity of foreseeing risks, while endurance tests the perseverance in responding to risks. Behind the risks of each era are livelihood needs that society urgently needs to address. By basing itself on social needs, resolving the risks of the times, and winning social trust, this trust is precisely the confidence for enterprises to traverse cycles and the long-term value that Ping An hopes to create for society.
