Deep News06-22

At the ongoing 4th China International Supply Chain Expo, a coffee-making robot from Gree Electric Appliances,Inc.Of Zhuhai (ASX: 000651) has become a major attraction at the company's exhibition booth.

On-site staff explained that the robot comes in single-arm and dual-arm models and is now in its third generation, with the dual-arm version already deployed commercially in Shenzhen's Luohu District. The system operates reliably, supports fully automatic online ordering and coffee preparation, and can create intricate latte art. A single unit can handle the entire shop workflow, enabling unmanned store operations.

Unintended Market Success

The company's Chief Marketing Officer, Zhu Lei, stated that the coffee robot was initially developed merely as a technology demonstration platform. For Gree, a leader in industrial manufacturing, this was considered a minor project. However, it has achieved unexpected market success, already securing a significant number of orders. During the exhibition, numerous foreign businesses showed keen interest, with an Argentine company already engaging in on-site partnership discussions.

Technical Foundation

This robot is built upon Gree's fully self-developed industrial robotics technology, with core components like motors and reducers produced in-house. The industrial robots are capable of high-precision, complex tasks such as welding. Currently, over 2,000 of Gree's self-developed industrial robots are operating stably in its own factories, thoroughly validating the equipment's reliability and providing a solid technical foundation for the deployment of service-oriented robots.
