Recently, the first pilot project for an unmanned vehicle delivery scenario by JD Logistics commenced trial operations in Wuxiang New Area. A sleekly designed JD Logistics intelligent delivery vehicle began providing delivery services at the Wuxiang Headquarters Building. This initiative represents a concrete step by Wuxiang New Area to actively implement artificial intelligence application scenarios in the city, injecting new momentum into the development of smart logistics for the new district.
During the trial phase, the autonomous vehicle utilizes L4-level autonomous driving technology to achieve precise positioning, intelligent obstacle avoidance, and autonomous route planning, safely and efficiently completing last-mile delivery tasks. The deployment of unmanned vehicles enhances the stability and coverage of urban delivery services, better meeting the high-frequency, small-batch delivery demands of businesses and residents. Its large-scale application is expected to gradually transform logistics workers from "manual laborers" into "intelligent operation and maintenance specialists," expanding opportunities for value-added employment.
Currently, Wuxiang New Area is further promoting the expansion of the JD Logistics unmanned vehicle project's pilot scope. Plans include adding four new unmanned vehicle delivery routes to cover core areas such as surrounding communities, commercial districts, and industrial parks. The goal is to gradually extend unmanned delivery services across the entire Wuxiang New Area, building an efficient, intelligent, and green last-mile logistics distribution system.
In the next phase, Wuxiang New Area will leverage platforms such as the China-ASEAN National Artificial Intelligence Application Cooperation Center to actively introduce and cultivate AI-related industries and expand application scenarios. The focus will be on driving the upgrade of urban smart logistics, establishing a regional benchmark for intelligent delivery, and supporting the construction of Nanning's AI application demonstration zone. By promoting the agglomeration of industries like artificial intelligence and autonomous driving, Nanning aims to strengthen its role as a hub in regional AI cooperation, forming replicable and scalable scenario-based application experience to aid the city's digital transformation and high-quality development.
