Agricultural Wholesale Price Index Edges Higher on August 7

The "Agricultural Wholesale Price 200 Index" registered at 113.92 on August 7, a rise of 0.26 points from the previous day, according to monitoring data. The "Vegetable Basket" product wholesale price index also increased by 0.31 points, reaching 114.14.

As of 2:00 PM on the same day, the average price of pork at national agricultural wholesale markets stood at 15.80 yuan per kilogram, unchanged from yesterday. Beef averaged 67.44 yuan per kilogram, up 0.3% from the previous day, while lamb was priced at 64.36 yuan per kilogram, a decline of 0.4%. Eggs rose 0.5% to 9.89 yuan per kilogram, and white-feathered chickens increased 0.4% to 17.30 yuan per kilogram.

Among the 28 key monitored vegetables, the average price was 4.45 yuan per kilogram, up 0.9% from yesterday. For the six major fruit varieties monitored, the average price was 6.93 yuan per kilogram, a decrease of 2.5%. In the aquatic sector, crucian carp fell 2.8% to 19.98 yuan per kilogram, while carp increased 1.1% to 14.34 yuan per kilogram. Silver carp dropped 2.0% to 10.50 yuan per kilogram, and large hairtail declined 1.3% to 41.56 yuan per kilogram.

Among the 46 key agricultural products monitored at domestic wholesale markets, the top five price increases compared to yesterday were asparagus lettuce (up 4.1%), lettuce (up 2.6%), zucchini (up 2.4%), spinach (up 2.3%), and cucumber (up 2.0%). The top five price declines were kyoho grapes (down 6.1%), pineapple (down 2.9%), crucian carp (down 2.8%), silver carp (down 2.0%), and banana (down 1.5%).
