The Dow Jones Industrial Average reached a new intraday high of 52,655.66 on Thursday, setting a course to close at a fresh record above its previous peak of 51,999.67 set on June 16.

In recent trading, the 130-year-old index, which comprises 30 stocks, saw the vast majority of its gains concentrated in just five of its components. Notably, none of these top contributors belong to the technology sector. The five stocks and their respective point contributions to the index's advance are as follows:

Caterpillar Inc. contributed 321 points.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. contributed 130 points.

UnitedHealth Group Inc. contributed 55 points.

Sherwin-Williams Co. contributed 53 points.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. contributed 53 points.

Over the past twelve months, the share price of Caterpillar Inc. has more than doubled.
