Domino's Pizza Inc. (DPZ) saw its stock price surge 7% in pre-market trading on Monday, following the release of its second-quarter 2026 financial results.
The pizza delivery giant reported revenue of $1.19 billion, exceeding the Ibes consensus estimate of $1.18 billion. Revenue growth was driven by higher franchise royalties and advertising revenues, as well as an increase in order volumes. While earnings per share of $4.07 slightly missed estimates, the company highlighted "meaningful" order count growth across both delivery and carryout businesses, bringing millions of new customers to the brand.
CEO Russell Weiner emphasized that order growth is the most important driver of long-term success, noting the achievement in a quarter where the broader U.S. quick-service restaurant industry faced pressure on consumer demand. This positive performance in customer acquisition appears to have outweighed other metrics that came in below expectations, such as U.S. same-store sales growth of 0.1%.
