As the financial reporting season unfolds, executive compensation at major companies has drawn significant market attention. Based on disclosed data from listed companies as of March 31, a review of 2025 executive pay at 13 leading automotive parts firms by market capitalization reveals that the average annual salary for chairpersons was 1.54 million yuan, while the average for general managers or presidents stood at 2.65 million yuan.
Among chairpersons and presidents, Chen Wei, President of Joyson Electronic, received the highest compensation at 5.964 million yuan. Notably, Chen's salary was 11.89 million yuan in 2024, indicating a 50% reduction in 2025. Wang Jianfeng, Chairman of Joyson Electronic, followed with approximately 4.47 million yuan, a slight decrease from 4.654 million yuan in 2024. Wang Dayong, President of Sanhua Intelligent Controls, ranked third with 4.44 million yuan, down by 890,000 yuan from 5.331 million yuan the previous year.
Other executives earning over 3 million yuan included Ye Shu, General Manager of Fuyao Glass (3.86 million yuan), Zhang Yabo, Chairman of Sanhua Intelligent Controls (3.45 million yuan), and Zou Ganrong, Chairman and President of Huayang Group (3.32 million yuan).
Beyond chairpersons and presidents, Cao Dewang, Lifetime Honorary Chairman of Fuyao Glass who stepped down as chairman last year, emerged as the highest-paid executive in the survey with over 7.7 million yuan. Cao has earned more than 7 million yuan annually since 2022. Chen Juli, Vice General Manager of Fuyao Glass, also received a high salary of 6.53 million yuan in 2025, slightly lower than 6.236 million yuan in 2024.
Cao Hui, son of Cao Dewang, who assumed the role of Chairman at Fuyao Glass in October 2025, saw little change in his compensation, earning 1.62 million yuan. From 2022 to 2024, Cao Hui's annual salary remained around 1.5 million yuan.
It is noteworthy that the chairpersons of Weichai Power, Top Group, and Huayu Automotive Systems reported zero salaries. Weichai Power Chairman Ma Changhai and Huayu Automotive Chairman Wang Xiaoqiu received compensation from affiliated entities, while no official explanation has been provided for Top Group Chairman Wu Jianshu's lack of salary.
Wu Jianshu, founder and controlling shareholder of Top Group (holding nearly 9 million shares as of end-2025), has a personal wealth of 59 billion yuan according to the 2025 Hurun Global Rich List, making him the wealthiest individual in Ningbo. Market observers speculate that as a major shareholder, his returns derive more from equity appreciation and capital gains than salary income.
Between August 29 and September 10 last year, Wu Jianshu, his son and Vice Chairman Wu Haonian, and their concert parties Ningbo Zhuyue Investment Management and Ningbo Paishe Real Estate collectively reduced their holdings in Top Group by 13.43 million shares, representing approximately 0.7728% of the company's total equity. Based on the average share price of 65.8 yuan during the disposal period, the total proceeds amounted to about 884 million yuan.
Three companies stood out for their generous executive compensation packages: Fuyao Glass, Joyson Electronic, and Top Group paid 37 million yuan, 27.16 million yuan, and 23.62 million yuan respectively last year. Additionally, Sanhua Intelligent Controls, Weichai Power, Shuanglin股份, and Huayang Group each distributed over 10 million yuan in total executive compensation.
