At the 2026 interim results conference held on August 28, Agricultural Bank Of China Limited (ABC) Vice President Wang Wenjin stated that during the first half of the year, the bank closely aligned its core responsibilities with serving rural revitalization and the real economy. By actively responding to macroeconomic policies, regulatory requirements, and market shifts, the bank achieved high-quality development in its deposit business, reflecting a healthy overall trend characterized by stable volume, superior quality, optimized structure, and coordinated pricing.
Looking ahead to the next phase, Wang Wenjin outlined that the bank will continue to solidify its deposit business foundation, striving to enhance the efficiency and quality of its liability operations while ensuring reasonable scale growth. This approach is designed to provide robust support for the bank's overall high-quality development and shareholder value returns.
First, the bank aims to precisely serve the real economy and rural revitalization. By proactively addressing the financing needs of residents and enterprises, it will develop service models tailored to diverse customer requirements, enrich urban and rural inclusive financial products, and drive steady deposit growth, thereby ensuring high-quality funding for rural revitalization and economic development.
Second, the bank plans to reinforce its differentiated competitive edge. Leveraging its unique cross-urban-rural positioning and customer base, it will deepen efforts in digital village construction and retail service upgrades, establishing a smart, integrated, and ecosystem-oriented customer service framework. Concurrently, it will expand its corporate client base and steadily boost its core competitiveness in corporate deposits.
Third, the bank will optimize its all-source funding structure. Adapting to evolving capital flow patterns, it will prudently manage the maturity of regular time deposits, coordinate various funding sources including general deposits, central bank borrowings, and interbank deposits, accelerate the transformation of settlement-based interbank deposits, and flexibly utilize active liability tools to continuously refine its funding growth structure and pace.
Fourth, the bank will deepen coordinated development of volume and pricing. Seizing the repricing benefits and low-interest-rate environment of the second half, it will strengthen differentiated deposit pricing management, actively broaden low-cost funding channels, strictly control the scale of high-cost deposits, and persistently drive down the bank's overall interest-bearing liability costs.
