The 4th Future Automotive Pioneers Conference 2026 was held in Shenzhen from May 29th to 30th. Ling Hongjia, General Manager of the Public Affairs Development Department for Meituan's Autonomous Logistics Vehicles, attended and delivered a speech.
Ling Hongjia pointed out that the industry previously focused on achieving breakthroughs in individual technological points. However, despite corporate efforts, there is ultimately a ceiling to what the industry can achieve alone. How to construct a better safety system for the whole of society determines whether all peers and entrepreneurs in the industry can progress further and more steadily. Meituan defines functional autonomous vehicles as a new quality productive force for industry development, highlighting their significant value in reducing logistics costs across society.
He believes that the healthy development of the entire industry points towards a common goal: reliable technology, solid operations, sustainable business models, and public acceptance. This is not only the expectation of regulators but also the shared objective pursued through the collective efforts of all enterprises in the sector.
