SIGENERGY's stock price plummeted 5.02% during intraday trading on Thursday, extending recent losses for the solar storage company.
The decline is primarily driven by an escalating patent infringement dispute with technology giant Huawei. Huawei has filed a formal complaint alleging that SIGENERGY's flagship SigenStor all-in-one solar storage product infringes on more than 10 of its patents, including key technologies related to inverter operation. Analysts note that if the infringement claims are substantiated, the company could face significant operational risks including product injunctions, financial damages, and costly product redesigns.
Compounding these legal concerns are structural vulnerabilities in SIGENERGY's business model, including heavy reliance on a single product line and a distributor-based sales network without direct manufacturing of core components.
