At the 2026 interim results conference held on August 28, PSBC President Lu Wei highlighted three key areas demanding the most urgent breakthroughs moving forward. The first priority is accelerating the transformation of the revenue structure. "The narrowing of interest rate spreads is an industry-wide trend. Although our net interest margin stands at 1.63%, which remains a leading position in the sector, we still face significant pressure. We must optimize our business structure, customer base, and regional allocation, raise the proportion of non-interest income, accelerate the cultivation of a second growth curve, and build a diversified, balanced revenue growth framework that can withstand market cycles," Lu Wei stated.
Secondly, digitalization must evolve from a mere tool into a core capability. Lu Wei explained that past digitalization efforts were largely focused on channel digitalization. The next step is to genuinely transform data into assets and leverage AI as a productive force, reshaping service models, risk control capabilities, and operational processes to enhance user experience and business efficiency.
Thirdly, organizational and talent strategies must align with the execution of the company's roadmap. Lu Wei emphasized the need to leverage seven major reforms as a guiding framework, optimize organizational structures, and strengthen incentive and constraint mechanisms for talent pipeline development. This approach aims to unleash grassroots vitality and convert organizational effectiveness and culture into sustained competitive advantage.
