China Gold International Resources announced that open-pit mining at the Chang Shan Hao (CSH) Gold Mine in Inner Mongolia restarted in early October 2026 after a five-month suspension triggered by a localized slope instability incident on 22 May 2026. No casualties or equipment losses were reported at the time of the event.
Key interim remediation measures—completion of road restoration, removal of loose material, reinforcement of the landslide body and installation of drainage and continuous slope-monitoring systems—were finalized by end-September 2026. A third-party professional assessment subsequently confirmed that safety standards now comply with regulatory requirements, enabling formal clearance from emergency management authorities and paving the way for the resumption of normal operations.
During the shutdown, the processing plant remained active by treating existing low-grade ore stockpiles, which helped mitigate output disruption. With full mining activities restored, management plans to blend newly mined ore with remaining stockpiles to stabilize feed grades and maintain production flexibility through year-end.
On this basis, China Gold International reiterated that 2026 annual production guidance for the CSH Mine remains unchanged. The company will continue to monitor operating conditions and the progress of ongoing engineering work, providing updates as required.
China Gold International, incorporated in British Columbia and dual-listed on the TSX (CGG) and HKEX (02099), operates the CSH Gold Mine and the Jiama Copper-Gold Polymetallic Mine in China. Its strategic focus remains on sustaining output growth at existing assets while expanding its resource base and pursuing new development opportunities globally.
