The event centered on the themes of youthful energy, patriotism, and ambition, aiming to inspire national pride, showcase the grandeur of China's major engineering achievements, highlight the spirit of striving youth, and promote the continuation of cultural heritage. It brought together academicians, prominent entrepreneurs, pioneering young scientists, role models of the era, and celebrated artists who connected with young netizens through keynote speeches, dramatic performances, traditional opera, and interactive dialogues, creating a unique and expansive ideological lesson online and offline.

During this unconventional class, some participants stood at the forefront of technological innovation, while others were deeply rooted in traditional culture—each choice representing a heartfelt response to the call of the times. The image of youth is never singular, but the determination to push forward burns just as brightly for everyone.

Where to Begin

Chen Liquan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and recipient of the 2025 State Supreme Science and Technology Award, presented his vision in My "Lithium" Dream. He encouraged the younger generation to be willing to take risks but never to concede defeat, and at 86, he revealed his new goal: to build an "Electric China."

He Yu, co-founder of Guosi Quantum and a graduate of the University of Science and Technology of China's Class of 2009 (enrolled at age 15), recounted his entrepreneurial journey, which served as an inspiring example of combining youthful ambition with transformative innovation.

Performers took to the stage to present Anhui's intangible cultural heritage, bringing the region's traditional arts to life for the audience. Meanwhile, the atmosphere at the event was electric, with one attendee even drawing attention by shaping an "heart" symbol with their hands.

The "Writing the Splendid Chapter of Youth on the Motherland in 2026" online ideological education and interactive guidance campaign was held at the University of Science and Technology of China. Backstage, performers in elaborate costumes prepared for their Huangmei opera rendition of The Female Consort, seizing every spare moment to refine their routines before going live.

Beyond the venue, a quiet corner of the university campus offered a stark, peaceful contrast to the day's energetic proceedings, reflecting the harmony between vibrant youth activity and the scholarly ambiance of the institution.
