The Shanghai Composite Index saw its losses deepen during the afternoon session, falling by 3% to 3,838.42 points, while the Beijing Stock Exchange 50 Index declined by more than 4%. Among the sectors, precious metals, aquaculture, and tourism led the declines. Across the broader market, nearly 5,100 stocks experienced losses.
