Central New Energy (01735) has posted its interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, reporting a notable 56.33% year-on-year increase in revenue to HK$6.33 billion. Despite the strong topline growth, profit attributable to company owners came in at HK$18.462 million, reflecting a decline of 20.67% compared with the prior corresponding period. Earnings per share stood at 0.44 HK cents for the reporting period.
During the period under review, the company continued to consolidate and expand its core operations, which encompass photovoltaic power generation and the manufacturing of N-type TOPCon solar cells. Management maintained a prudent approach to operational investment while optimising its product mix and upgrading production technology. These efforts, combined with enhanced market penetration in the renewable energy sector, have helped secure stable contributions to both revenue and profit from the traditional solar business.
Alongside the sustainable development of its existing core business, the group has actively seized the rapid market growth opportunities presented by the global artificial intelligence industry. Strategically, the company has extended its business footprint into AI chip development, intelligent computing, and server-related operations. This expansion marks a significant milestone in the group's diversification and technological advancement, as it progressively builds industrial capability in AI smart hardware and computing power, thereby opening a fresh growth trajectory beyond its conventional renewable energy operations.
